Venetian Women: Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat

Few pieces of music are as instantly recognizable as Vivaldi’s Gloria. But how many people know that it was originally performed entirely by women, including the lower voice parts? Monica Huggett directs the all-female orchestra, soloists, and chorus in this festive presentation of Vivaldi’s most beloved works, Gloria and Magnificat.

"Monica Huggett has few rivals in the baroque-violin world where sweetness of tone is concerned." -Gramophone
